ABOUT THE STAMP
I lived in Japan for eight years.  Artists use a Hanko stamp for their signatures.  Larger pieces are stamped on back.

"PAINTING" WITH FIBER
Picture
First I tear rough forms from a larger sheet of fiber paper I have painted or coated with metallic rub.  This paper is wonderful (and often challenging) because there are little fibers running through it.  These are perfect for the whiskers and tail (to the left).

Next I brush varnish on the back of the forms, and place them using tweezers and shish kabab sticks. I brush once more with varnish.

Whiskers and tail placed, I use a fine paintbrush to sign the piece.

Some images are harder than others.  Kitties are my best.  My dogs often look like wild boar, though, and I have to start all over!  While cards may be similar, no two are exactly alike.  Each card is unique.
